The resort
Blu Monkey Phi Phi Island
Blu Monkey Phi Phi Island is a small hotel of the Thai Blu Monkey group on the eastern edge of Tonsai Village, near the path to Phi Phi Viewpoint. It was formerly known as Phi Phi Amara Hotel.
The design takes its cue from the tattoo art seen all over the island, mixing minimal tattoo style artwork with elements inspired by the sea.
There are 24 rooms in three types: Superior double or twin rooms, Superior triple rooms and Deluxe rooms with a double bed and a sofa bed. All have air conditioning, a flat screen TV and a fridge.
The hotel is tucked away from the main beach party zone, so nights are quieter than on Loh Dalum. The viewpoint stairs start about 100 metres away.
In the lobby, the Monkey Desk helps with ferries, tours and onward travel, and the Monkey Market sells snacks, books, souvenirs and work by local artists. There is no pool.
