About

Papaya Restaurant

Papaya is one of the best known cheap eats on Phi Phi Don. The kitchen cooks Thai and Indian food side by side, so one table can share a green curry, a lamb vindaloo and a basket of garlic naan.

Portions are famously large and the food comes spicy unless you ask otherwise. The room is simple and colourful, with a big mural on the wall.

The restaurant became so popular that a second branch, Papaya 2, opened about a block away with the same menu. Both are a short walk from the pier.
